Founded by Salvatore Orlando, the brand began in Sicily before expanding to Spain’s Basque Country, where he helped pioneer the industrialisation of the fishing and canning sector. By 1923, he had established factories in Guetaria and Ondarroa, laying the foundations for what would become a major presence across the Basque fishing coast.
Since 1920, Orlando has grown across Spain and later into Italy in 1949 through Salvatore Orlando Genoa. Today, the group continues its heritage in premium canned fish, with brands including Orlando, Olasagasti, Bribón, El Faro, Gercor, and La Marquesina, combining tradition, scale, and long-standing expertise in seafood preservation.
